Why the BMW R 12 G/S for the Canary Islands

The R 12 G/S is the bike to take if you want the modern boxer power and ride aids in a frame that still looks and feels like an air-cooled scrambler. It is the most stylish thing in the fleet — the bike you stop and photograph in front of a Caldera de Bandama lookout — and underneath the retro paint is a genuinely capable big-twin that handles the GC-21 climb without breaking a sweat. We rent it as a road bike (paved only, like the rest of our fleet), and it rewards a slower-touring pace: stop more, look around more, ride two-up to lunch on the GC-200. Not the bike for a flat-out mountain blast — pick a GS for that. Full A licence.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 2nd time hiring through Canary Ride. They are leagues in front of the other two moto hire shops I've used previously. The shop itself is clean and tidy with heaps of bikes and gear available, the maintenance is being done constantly in front of you near the counter and to a high standard. All the available bikes are well presented, clean, chains tensioned, lubed, tyre pressure etc. etc. all staff I've dealt with so far are polite, pleasant and are riders themselves.
I hired the Ducati Dark Icon a couple of years ago which was a cool bike but I wouldn't recommend. It's too low and softly sprung for the mountains. Sounds nice though.
This last time I used the Yamaha Tracer 700 GT, which I highly recommend. Fully adjustable suspension, nice mid-range power delivery and felt very nimble in the tight stuff. Good clearance, only touched a peg a couple of times when I was pushing it hard.

Das Mieten funktioniert sehr einfach und unkompliziert, von der Reservierung über den Online-Check-in bis hin zur Rückgabe.
Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit, sprechen die gängigen Sprachen und sind immer erreichbar falls man Fragen hat.

Toll ist die große Fahrzeugauswahl, da ist für jeden etwas dabei. Die Fahrzeuge sind in einem super Zustand (auch technisch).

Für die Erkundung der Insel werden tolle Fahrrouten vorgeschlagen aber, man kann die Insel auch ganz individuell in seinem Tempo bereisen.

Appena arrivato ho trovato un ragazzo italiano del team super disponibile che mi ha mostrato le moto in garage, spiegandomi con grande chiarezza le caratteristiche dei vari modelli e i dettagli del contratto. Oltre a questo, mi ha dato dritte preziose su bellissimi itinerari da fare in moto e su ottimi posti dove fermarsi a mangiare!

Molto comodo anche il fatto che noleggino l'abbigliamento tecnico e casco perfetto per chi viaggia leggero.

The whole process was very easy and convenient, from booking to picking up the motorcycle. There are paid parking facilities nearby, which makes it easy to leave a rental car while picking up the bike.

The staff who welcomed us were very friendly and helpful, and the pick-up process was quick and straightforward. We rented a Honda Transalp, which was in excellent condition.

We had an amazing time riding this motorcycle on the beautiful roads and landscapes of Gran Canaria. We’re sharing a few photos from our ride to give you a little taste of the experience!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great experience. We rented 2 bikes for a day, a Desert X and a Tracer 7, and the process was very easy. We reserved the bikes in person but you can do it on their website as well. The staff was really nice and as advertised they are multilingual so it was no problem with our broken spanish. If you go there in peak season the delivery is free.
I asked them to drop the bike off at the airport.
Before I left they asked for my flight number so they knew what time to be there.
We inspected the bike together, and then I rode it for a week without any issues.
When leaving i let them know the bike needed to be picked up at the airport, and that wasn't a problem.

Leider habe ich mein Leihmotorrad an Tag eins im Stand zu Fall gebracht und auch da muss ich sagen - wahnsinnig toller Service!!! Das Bike wurde abgeholt (ich hatte entschieden, lieber am Sozius weiterzufahren) und das Team war so unglaublich zuvorkommend und kundenorientiert! Der Selbstbehalt war weit mehr als nur fair und wirklich sehr entgegenkommend!!
Die beiden restlichen Tage verliefen absolut problemlos. Mein Mann war mehr als happy mit seiner BMW R12 GS und wir konnten die Insel und ihre tollen Bergstraßen wirklich genießen.
Zwei tolle Bikes, drei wunderschöne Tage und ein wirklich einmaliges Team!!
